Wedding Send-Off ideas
If you want to go out in style as your wedding day comes to a conclusion, finding the ideal send-off for you is the best way to accomplish this, while getting those final stunning photos!
First, when considering send-off options, it is important to consider your venue’s policies. Some venues do not allow things like sparklers, confetti, fireworks, etc. so it is necessary to keep that in mind before getting your heart set on the perfect send off. I also always recommend discussing this with your photographer and videographer, to make sure they are prepared to capture the best images possible!
Sparklers
Of course sparklers have become a traditional wedding send-off over the last couples of year, and for good reason as they can produce stunning photos. However, there are also some cons that come with sparklers; obviously the main drawback is the possibility for things to go south since you have an open flame, especially if you will be serving alcohol at your event. If you want to do sparklers I recommend discussing this with your coordinator in advance to make sure they come prepared with a sparkler container, torch lighters (thank me later), and a sand bucket to dispose of spent sparklers afterwards!
Flower Petals
Flower petals provide a beautiful scene for a send-off whether you save it for the conclusion of the evening, or have guests throw them as you recede from your ceremony following the ‘first kiss!’ Petals are an easy beautiful way to get those important photos of you and your honey!
Bubbles
Bubbles are another great option to do either as you recede from the ceremony, or as a send-off at the end of the night! By giving small bubble containers to each guest and strategically placing some bubble guns or a bubble machine, you can create some really magical bubble-filled photos!
Paper Airplanes
Hear me out - this can be such a fun send off idea for the right couple, and can result in some amazing photos! Whether you are a pilot and looking for a unique send off, or you just want something different, this can be a really great option that your guests are sure to love!
Champagne Glasses
One of my very favorite send-off ideas I have seen was plastic champagne flutes filled with twinkle lights. Guests ‘cheered’ over the new Mr + Mrs as they made their way through their loved ones, lighting the way to the beginning of their life together. This is something I have only seen once so far, so if you are looking for something unique this may be a great option for you! This can also be done indoors in the events of back weather, which is a huge plus!
Fireworks/Cold Spark Machines
Both fireworks and cold spark machines provide a stunning, elevated exit that your guests will never forget - just make sure to discuss these options with your venue if this is something you are considering!
Pom-poms
If you are a big sports fan and looking for a way to include that in your big day, incorporating pom-poms in the colors of your favorite team is a fun send off, especially if you find yourself getting married on a game day! It will also bring you peace of mind knowing this send-off can be achieved indoors if the weather is bad.
Glow Sticks/Foam Party Sticks
Glow sticks and foam party sticks can make for really unique photos as guests wave them when you pass through! There are also tons of different options in regards to glow sticks, so this can make for a dance floor prop before being used for sendoff. Of course this is a colorful option, so if you have a more modern theme this may not match your vision. This can also be done indoors if weather becomes a problem.
Bonus weather backup option - Phone Flashlights
Okay okay, I know this sounds cheesy, but I am telling you, having your guests line up and form an aisle for you to walk down, while waving their phone flashlights around can create some really cool pictures/videos. You should not have to miss out on a send-off if it is important to you just because you may be facing rain. If nothing else, this is a great backup plan that can easily be achieved indoors!
